Early in the 20th Century, Frank F. Latta compiled stories of the San Joaquin Valley as told by the pioneers. El Camino Viejo à Los Angeles is one of the stories Frank Latta wrote and originally presented to the Kern County Historical Society as a program in the mid-1930s. The organization published Latta’s manuscript in 1936 and the book quickly went out of print. The history of El Camino Viejo à Los Angeles is an important part of the early history of the San Joaquin Valley and long lost to the local history reader. It will enlighten the reader to early life in the San Joaquin Valley.
